Yes, actually the resort has five pools and one jacuzzi that combine to form a massive sea turtle. The pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto provides over 20,000 square feet of relaxation and recreation for those staying at the resort. The hotel pools differ in size and each is dedicated to the different qualities guests are looking for on their Mexico vacation: a kid’s pool, an activities pool, an adults-only option, a pool for Elite Members, and the main pool where families and friends can join together for fun. The pools at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto have the looks, setting, and service you’ll want on your trip to Mexico. 

How many pools does Villa del Palmar Loreto have?

There are five different pools and one large jacuzzi at the resort. When viewed from your suite, you’ll see that they form a giant sea turtle heading out to the ocean. The main pool is the largest of the pools at Villa del Palmar Loreto and is the body of the turtle. It is 4 feet deep and is the ideal setting for families with older children, friends looking to have a good time, and those who wish to be part of the action. Connected to the main pool is an activities pool, an adults-only pool, a jacuzzi, and an Elite Members pool that each make up the fins of the turtle. The head is the kid’s pool, which varies in depth from ankle deep to no more than 1 foot. 


What are the resort’s pool hours?

The pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto is open year-round from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Because the weather in Loreto is ideal for a beach vacation any time of the year, the pools remain refreshing. We cool them down when it’s too hot and warm them up when it gets a little chilly. The hotel pools are kept at a comfortable temperature 365 days a year. 

Is there an adult-only pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto?

Yes! We know that part of any good vacation is being able to relax how you wish, which is why you’ll find an adults-only pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto. This space creates a relaxed environment where adults can have a good time. 


Is there a kid’s pool at the resort?

There is a fantastic kid’s pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto. It includes a splash pad that is ankle deep where little kids can run around and play in the fountains and three deeper sections that are no more than 1 foot deep. The space makes up the head of the sea turtle-shaped pools at the resort and it’s big enough that multiple families can relax while their children play. 

Are pool towels provided by the resort?

Yes! You’ll be given large, fluffy pool towels to use throughout the day. Place them on your chairs for comfort, wrap them around yourself for a quick dry off, or use them as a pillow while you relax the day away. At the end of the evening, return them and we’ll give you a fresh one in the morning. 


Are there lounge chairs that need to be reserved?

Yes, there are lounge chairs, but they do not need to be reserved. The chairs are first come, first serve, which means you’ll have to find a space when you head down to the pool for the day. There are multiple options, as each of the five pools has a multitude of chairs for guest convenience. However, out of respect for everyone staying at the resort, we ask that you only place your belongings on the chairs if you are actively going to be using them. 

Is there food and drink service by the pools at Villa del Palmar Loreto?

Yes! If you wish, you’ll be served alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and complete meals around the hotel pools. The service is exceptional, the food delicious, and you’ll be well taken care of. View Pool Bar


Why is the pool turtle-shaped?

Sea turtles are often viewed as a symbol of longevity and perseverance in many cultures. In addition, the sea turtle-shaped pool is representative of the beauty of the waters that lie just beyond the resort’s shores. The Sea of Cortez, teeming with sea turtles and over 800 species of marine life, is considered the “Aquarium of the World,” and the pool at Villa del Palmar Loreto honors the beauty and life that make a Mexico vacation so special. When viewed from above, guests can appreciate the entirety of the turtle, including the body, four fins, and head. Unlike most hotel pools, this one is green in color and has decorative lines that resemble the turtle’s shell.
