1. Where is Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto?

Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto sits on the coast of the Baja California Peninsula on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, north of Los Cabos. It’s located 30 minutes south of the Loreto International Airport.

2. How far is Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto from the airport?

The Loreto International Airport is 30 minutes north of the Villa del Palmar resort property. Transportation options include rental cars, taxis, and the airport shuttle.

3. Does Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto have an airport shuttle?

Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto does not have an airport shuttle, however we will be happy to make arrangements for your transfers to and from the airport. Please note that there is a nominal fee for the airport transfer service to our Loreto resort. To schedule your airport transfer, please fill out our form here or contact the resort directly.

6. If I make a hotel reservation through your reservation center do I have to attend a timeshare presentation?

You are never required to attend a timeshare presentation at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, unless it has been specifically mentioned in a package that you booked - however our "home away from home" accommodations may end up swaying you to take a look.

7. Are pets allowed at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto?

Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto is a Pet-Friendly Resort. For a minimal fee per pet, you can bring your dog or cat on vacation. The resort will lend you various accessories to make your pet’s stay more comfortable, including a pet bed, food bowls, and small toys. In addition, there are diverse areas of the resort designated for pet play and relaxation. The resort does not offer wheelchairs as an amenity or for rent, but can acquire one for emergencies and transfers. Our staff will be ready to assist if needed. We recommend you bring light, breathable clothing for the day, in addition to a bathing suit, and something to keep you warm at night when the temperatures cool down. A hat to protect you from the sun and comfortable walking shoes are also highly recommended.

1. Where is Loreto Mexico located?

Loreto Mexico is located on the eastern coast of the Baja California Peninsula on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, about 6 hours north of Cabo San Lucas.

2. How safe is Loreto Mexico?

Loreto is considered one of the safest towns in Mexico. While common sense and standard precautions are advised, there is no additional safety or travel warnings to heed.

3. How far is Loreto from Cabo San Lucas?

Loreto Mexico sits just over 6 hours from Cabo San Lucas by car at a distance of 509 kilometers.

4. What airport do you fly into for Loreto?

The Loreto International Airport (LTO) services the town of Loreto and the nearby region. It is located just five minutes from downtown Loreto.

5.What airlines fly to Loreto Mexico?

Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Volaris, Calafia Airlines, and WestJet service Loreto, however you may need to fly into San Diego and use the Cross Border Xpress for flights leaving from Tijuana.

6. Can you drive to Loreto Mexico?

Yes, you can drive to Loreto Mexico safely, although it takes much longer than flying. From the US city of San Diego, it takes around 17 hours by car.

7. What is the weather like in Loreto?

No matter what time of year you visit the city, the weather in Loreto is almost always perfect. In this top Mexican destination, the sun shines an average of 360 days a year and temperatures hover between a comfortable 60-90°F. While the most popular time to visit Loreto is from mid November to the end of April, the entire year provides sufficient sunshine and blue skies for a wonderful vacation experience. 8. What time zone is Loreto Mexico located in?

Baja California Sur, which includes Loreto, is located in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (GMT -7), the same as Edmonton, in Canada’s Alberta Province, and the city of Denver, Colorado in the United States.

9. Will I be able to communicate with the locals in Loreto if I don’t speak Spanish?

While the locals in Loreto love and encourage visitors to speak the language, English is a widely accepted form of communication for those who don’t speak Spanish. While at our optional all inclusive resort in Loreto, you’ll find that our waiters, retail workers, resort personnel, and many more speak English, as well as Spanish, throughout the day. During your Mexico vacations, you should have no problem communicating your wants and needs.

10. Will my cell phone work in Loreto

Many U.S. and Canadian cellular companies provide travelers with cell phone plans that allow them to make calls and/or send text messages while traveling abroad. Please check with your individual carrier for prices and details.

11. Can you swim in Loreto Mexico?

Yes! Throughout most of the year the Sea of Cortez has calm, warm waters that make it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

TRAVEL TO MEXICO

1. What documents do US and Canadian citizens need to travel to Mexico?

US citizens need to have an original, signed passport that is valid for six months beyond their stay. Canadian citizens also are required to have a valid passport. Foreign citizens without a valid passport will not be allowed entry into Mexico and will be returned to their country of origin. Canadian permanent residents need to present a Resident Card, Certificate of Identity, or Refugee Travel Document.

2. What are the travel requirements for minors traveling to Mexico?

Those under 18 years of age traveling alone, with only one parent, or with someone other than the child's parents, must show a notarized letter of permission signed by the parent/parents not traveling. In the case of a single parent traveling with a minor, a certified copy of the divorce decree and court order showing sole custody, certified copy of birth certificate naming one parent, a notarized copy of a death certificate or other legal documents proving custody or guardianship are necessary. Minors must also bring with them a valid passport.

3. Is it safe to travel to Mexico?

Yes. Mexico is safe and very accommodating to tourists. Rest assured the Magic Town of Loreto offers the utmost in tranquil, relaxing vacations, weddings and honeymoons.

4. What is the currency in Mexico?

The monetary unit is the Mexican peso (MXN). The symbol is the same as that used for the American dollar: $. The exchange rate is very favorable for travelers with many designer items and handicrafts at incredibly reasonable prices. Bargaining at many markets is encouraged and often expected meaning deals abound.

Overall, you can expect beautiful days filled with sunshine and gentle breezes. The climate is temperate and dry with refreshing breezes in some areas and a bit more humid in others.
